Hotel Rwanda is based on a true story of a Hotel Manager Paul Rusesabagina, who fought against his own community’s militia to save more than thousand people and that too for so many days. Inspirational, emotion-filled, heroic and truthful. It’s about racism, rivalry, it’s about a husband who takes care of his family in all odds and also it’s about a human who stood by the bigger cause relentlessly. Remarkable!
More I can relate this to the people of Gujarat, where Muslims stood before Hindus and Hindus stood before Muslims in the worst riots and violent situations. This movie is an inspiration that there is nothing beyond humanity!

Rahul Sharad Dravid – an off beat hero of Indian cricket fraternity. Had we have enough of him? We’d never have. A son of well versed Mahatrastrian family made his way to India’s giant sport with his determination. One of the most clinical with his appraoch, Rahul Dravid sustained for years with his sheer skills. A talent which he groomed over the years with dedication, learnings and practice.
We cannot deny that his talent was often overshadowed by Indian fans’ passion about Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin has born to get this love and it is quite predictable, people would never accept his resignation whenever the time will be. But it ain’t fair with Rahul Dravid to get this cold farewell! Wish he had announced this during some series and we could know that what will be the last day of his on the pitch. Sad! You took it away from all Indian fans, Rahul.
People come and go and the show must go on. Rahul Dravid has been imprinted as the “all time great” (that is how Ganguly calls him) in the cricketing history.
One of the youngest Chief Ministers in Indian history, and the very youngest CM of UP, a post grad in Environmental Engeineering from Sydney, Australia and the father to three – it is certainly refreshing to have a CM with all this bullets in his bio-data.

Akhilesh Yadav may have defeated Rahul Gandhi’s Congress campaign and that may be the headline for every other news channel, but my layman perspective is making me curious to wait for the better future for one of the most troubled state and though one of the most important state of India. Uttar Pradesh which itself contains the state of New Delhi, our capital despite of being an independent state. Akhilesh Yadav’s credentials are important but more important is how he looks at the state in coming years. Often mentioned, Akhilesh Yadav’s intentions seem clear and positive.

This is what makes me write this post because not just Akhilesh or Uttar Pradesh, the Indian legacy of democracy is going through the phase where the 5 five biggest challenges are being faced in every other state at one or the other level. Being in the “Best city” (as a survey has quoted) – Ahmedabad, these five challenges are not aliens to the people of Ahmedabad. Increasing lawlessness, safety for women and corrupt administration are on the top of the list.

A special program on LokSabha channel on women was based on the women traveling in Mumbai Local every day, how they enjoy their space in dedicated women’s trains and what kind of lives they lead!
Firstly, TV channels like LokSabha are hardly notices by the majority of the viewers across the country. They always telecast the programs like this which take us to the untouched issues and subjects of our daily lives, our country’s remotest corners. What merely apparent was the spirit of those ladies and broadly the spirit of the Mumbaikars. The daily hustle and bustle, finishing the daily chores before you leave your home, reaching on time, catching the trains in the midst of a busy morning, , how quickly you settle to the surroundings of the train and how that journey of 40-50 minutes is bound to give you a lot more than the entire day could give you.
There were songs, dances, snacks, drinks, fights, games and also chopping of vegetables happening in that train compartment. When the people of Mumbai are compared, they come out far more energetic, practical and high at their spirit. Not being such could leave them estranged in the race of getting bread and butter. This often leads to the thoughts of comparing other big cities of India.
Being in Ahmedabad, the comparison seems futile. Here they have so much of time, public transport is an alien to most of them and distance between different classes of people is adamant. Still they all seem busy with their cinemas, eating outs and gatherings at cafes and restaurants.
Well, let us let it be the tribute to the women and womanhood all around the world. They are the ones who are special!

Mittal of Airtel has virtually threatened the Government saying, if they will have to pay huge spectrum prices then customers will have to bear high call rates. This is going to be very very interesting.
Government is bound to auction the spectrums now and that means customers will face the high call rates than now. Who are they going to blame? They have blamed enough the government for indulging in scams. Fair enough! But are we ready to bear the increase in call rates?
This is a decisive scenario where the citizens are in a catch and their behavior will be defining whether they care for a good, transparent, non-corrupt and scam-less government or they only care about their own pockets. It is to be observed closely that who is hiding the “Gandhi Topi” which had it printed “Mein Anna Hu”!
Let us follow this up later.
